Hans Nielsen Hauge (April 3, 1771 – March 29, 1824) has been a role modell and inspiration to the establishment of this site. He was a revivalist Norwegian lay preacher who spoke up against the Church establishment in Norway. Hauge is also considered an influential personality in the industrialization of Norway.
